Annual Performance Survey of the THA evolves into The Tobago Performance Survey
Approaching December 2022, the end of the first Governance term of the newly elected Tobago House of Assembly (THA) Assemblymen, the Tobago Council of Elders, chaired by the late Reginald Dumas, and the Tobago CivilNET, collaborated to create a tool by which the residents of Tobago can provide annual feedback to the THA on its performance. Since, according to the elders, there was no such precedent since the re-establishment of the Tobago House of Assembly in 1980, it was determined that this performance tool will evolve with each iteration, to more closely reflect the will of the residents of Tobago.
Upon heeding the many feedback comments from the people, especially on the broadness of some of the questions in the first two surveys, this third iteration has expanded the demographics to improve the quality of data on the type of Tobagonian responding, and also focused the performance rating questions on three areas; (1) Your Quality of Life in Tobago; (2) Participatory Governance; (3) Your Contribution towards a better Tobago. Accordingly, this evolved version of the Tobago Performance Survey keeps at the forefront, the words of the late Reginald Dumas that “our Right to Vote comes with our Responsibility to ensure Good Governance from those elected or nominated to represent us”, it now expands on those words to include our responsibility to participate in our own Governance, by providing non-partisan and unbiased feedback to the political arm, as well as doing our part to improve the social infrastructure of Tobago.
As of Wednesday, January 8, 2025 each Tobagonian is asked to participate in this Tobago Performance Survey, covering the THA Administrative term of December 2023 to December 2024, by accessing the online form at https://tinyurl.com/RateTobago24, you may also visit the facebook page https://www.facebook.com/TobagoCivilNET, or our website at http://www.tobagocivilnet.org/surveys.
