Public Education
Before Tobago CivilNET was even formally registered, its future members were busy organizing public education events around important topics like public conversations with the candidates putting themselves up for election in the 2020 General Election and both 2021 THA Elections. CivilNET organized several discussion forums where the public was able to question the candidates and evaluate them on a more informed and fair manner.
Since then, the organization has hosted several public in-person and virtual sessions to spread knowledge to the public. Many of these live-streamed sessions are recorded on Facebook for on-demand consumption. They cover health, politics, the youth, tourism and other topics of importance to the island.
Measuring Public Opinion – Surveys
CivilNET leads the creation and publication of polls and surveys on public opinion on key happenings in Tobago. this is sometimes in collaboration with other social groups like the Tobago Council of Elders. This work has slowly added measurement of public opinion to the public domain for the good of the Tobago public, as well as political actors within the outside the local government, the Tobago House of Assembly.
See more information about CivilNET Surveys HERE.

- The Education Revolution Committee

Projects
Sargassum Biodigesters for Tobago
Tobago CivilNET is partnering with the MIC Institute of Technology, Recycling, Waste and Logistics Ltd, and Rum and Sargassum (Barbados) to facilitate the importation, installation and management of two biodigesters that can generate cooking and transport gas from agricultural and other waste and sargassum. This will be used to stimulate Tobago-driven approaches to problems like sargassum.
